Somewhere behind the scenes

I am a member of SparkPeople.com and I recently (like last week) decided to go back to that. It is a Health & Fitness website with support groups for just about everything! I love it and when I was on last time I lost 20lb. Hopefully this time I will re-loose that and then some! I have been eating better and I am going to exercise… starting tonight I am pulling out my Tai Chi dvds and going to work on some of that. I am also looking into the Leslie Sansone Walking DVDs. I was a little discouraged yesterday and Sunday because I had joined the Spark Bootcamp Challenge, but I can’t do some of their exercises with my ankle injury still in the funk. I had a friend recommend the Leslie Sansone dvds to me. They look like they have possibilities!

In other news… My uncle had a heart attack on Sunday (1-3-09). This is his second heart attack. The first one was 12-25-08 and it was a MASSIVE heart attack (this one was also, but not as bad as the one last time). He had to be brought back 12 times before he stayed. Even more unfortunate was the fact that it was his daughter (my cousin)’s 19th birthday on the 3rd. She was at his house when it happened. I feel so horrible for her.

Also, Friday is Austin’s last day working at Fluor. Needless to say I not really having a spectacular week. I am trying to keep my chin up though. Sometimes it feels like there is someone behind the scenes directing events… not in a God way (because yes, he is, but that isn’t what I am talking about)… more like a Truman Show way. “Oh, her life is starting to get comfortable… send in the [insert drama/problem].” *SIGH*

Today’s mantra:

The sun’ll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There’ll be sun!
Just thinkin’ about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs,
And the sorrow
‘Til there’s none!
When I’m stuck with a day
That’s gray,
And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And grin,
And say,
Oh
The sun’ll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
Tïll tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow!
Tomorrow!
I love ya
Tomorrow!
You’re always
A day
A way!

Beginning and End

Well, this is my first official blog (the other was my wonderful hubby doing a fairly decent impression of me). Blogging isn’t nearly as easy as I had imagined. The words don’t really flow that freely right now, but I will get it figured out.

So this year has been an… interesting year. It seems as thought the entire world has had a bad year. The economy is in the toilet, war, famine, all that “fun” stuff. Everyone seems to be holding on to the hope that 2010 will be better. I am definitely in that boat. For me it is a beginning and an end… just like everyone else. However, I am ending school and beginning another era in my life. Plans change, new plans are made, things I thought were going to happen… well, they aren’t happening yet.

In school we are given the belief that as soon as we graduate people will be clamoring to get us to work for them. Unfortunately, in this economy, that is not the case for even the best of students. I believe that, of my graduating class, there are 2 people who have “real” jobs in our field (Interior Design).  I will be staying at my current position (Receptionist to an Engineering Firm in Sugar Land).

My wonderful hubby (here after referred to as Dear Hubby or DH) is having to make a foray into the job searching horde due to the fact that our company was forced to lay him off. (Unfortunately they are now having to lay off people they had no desire to get rid of due to lack of work) He is a smart man and many people would be blessed to have him as an employee. Hopefully he will be able to find something fast and we won’t have to have the worry that so many people have right now.

As for non-work and non-school news, I will now begin my journey to becoming healthier and loosing weight. I will also be more frugal. These are my “New Years Resolutions.” 1) Loose Weight. 2) Save Money. Keep me in your prayers! (And whatever you do, please DON’T pray for patience!!!!!)

So, many things have changed in 2009. It is my fervent prayer that 2010 will be better.

Until next time
Angie

Angie’s New Blog!!

My loving husband, setup my new blog for me last night! He is the one actually writing this, but he knows this is exactly what I would say were I to write it myself.  So, go visit my website (http://www.angiemurphydesigns.com) too since he made that also. Its a work in progress, as soon as I finish my portfolio I will have the content needed for the website.
